Background
CUREE works at the leading edge of research and evidence-informed educational policy and practice. They work with national organisations, the government, local authorities and schools across UK. Their clients include the General Teaching Council (GTC), the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and the Quality Improvement Agency (QIA).
Brief
CUREE needed to redesign its information-rich website to make it more functional and provide a better online user experience. Their old Content Management System (CMS) no longer fulfilled their complex publishing needs. The first challenge was to reorganise the information and give each audience type quick access to relevant resources. The second challenge was to translate the client's technical needs into a detailed functional specification.
Solution
Raspberry Frog streamlined the design and gave it a fresh new look (click here to view the old design). The new website is now maintained by Drupal, a powerful open source Content Management System. One of Drupal's strongest feature is that it allows to cross-categorise all content across the site globally and automatically to generate lists to enhance information distribution and navigation.
Benefits
The new website is much more user-friendly, functional and easier to maintain. If the client needs to add new functionalities in the future, these can be easily implemented and at a relatively low-cost. The website complies to Level AA of the WCAG 1.0 and the client receives regular support from Raspberry Frog to ensure that new content remains accessible.
