Greenpeace Glastonbury giveway on Facebook

1 June 2008

Greenpeace has just launched a Facebook campaign to raise awareness of green issues amongst festival-goers.

Facebook users can sign up to Greenpeace's new application, and win one of six pairs of tickets to the Glastonbury music festival this June.

The 'Greener Glastonbury Giveaway' page targets Facebook members as likely festival-goers to advertise Greenpeace's environmental mission on an interactive, social networking platform.

Facebook members are encouraged to invite friends to join the competition to boost their own chances of bagging festival tickets. Users are awarded points for every referral and can track their success on a leader board.

As the number of Facebook friends joining the application grows, so does a cartoon image which transforms from a mud bath to a sunny, green festival scene.

Greenpeace's innovative drive is part of the charity's Leave No Trace campaign, promoting the recycling and reusing of materials to festival crowds this summer.
