New website on how to fundraise
6 June 2008
Three UK fundraising bodies have joined forces to create a new website offering the latest guidance on fundraising.
The Institute of Fundraising has built the site, www.how2fundraise.org, with funding from the Office of the Third Sector and the Vodafone UK Foundation.
Launched by Minister for the Third Sector, Phil Hope, the site aims to make fundraising more straightforward, enjoyable and legal for both charities and volunteers, with the ultimate aim of increasing the funds available to good causes.
Charity members of the Institute of Fundraising can upload logos and template documents onto the website so that fundraisers can print off branded sponsorship forms and letters.
Many other resources are available on the site, from 'how to' guides for raising cash through special events, to forums where fundraisers can share their ideas and advice online.
Sarah Shillito, Head of The Vodafone UK Foundation and Social Investment, said: The professionals are not exclusively the experts when it comes to this area of fundraising. We hope we've created just the place for volunteers to share their secrets of success.
Large UK charities including Children in Need and Marie Curie have already backed the initiative and are using the site to boost fundraising from volunteers.
