The Petchey Academy's website.

The Petchey Academy

Background

The Petchey Academy commissioned Raspberry Frog to redesign its website in order to reflect the new changes. The Academy was opened in September 2006 to provide additional secondary education places for the children of Hackney. Its unique specialism is health, care and medical sciences and its independent status allow a more innovative and flexible approach to education.

Brief

The Petchey Academy moved into a new state of the art building in 2007 and needed a website redesign to convey the new corporate identity, reflect the multi-million pound building project and provide key information to the various stakeholders.

The Petchey Academy also needed a Content Management System (CMS) so that they could maintain the website themselves.

Solution

Raspberry Frog drew up a web content strategy to ensure that the new website would achieve its goals and satisfy user requirements. A competitive analysis was carried out in order to exploit competitors' weaknesses and address their strengths.

The visual design played a key role in conveying The Petchey Academy's tagline and multi-million pound building.

Benefits

The new website can be easily updated via the CMS and the vertical navigation gives the client the flexibility to add as many new menu items as they wish.

The tagline 'Traditional values in a modern world' is successfully reflected through the look and feel. The home page is dynamically updated with the latest news and upcoming events.

...The focus on accessibility was also most impressive and an important factor when presenting information to our stakeholders. We have been very impressed with how Raspberry Frog have responded to our needs and kept in communication with us throughout the development process and would recommend them to other schools in a similar position.
